The Shadow Figure is a CCTV-only anomaly where a patient or visitor appears as a completely black silhouette — almost like a living shadow — when viewed through the security camera feed. In person, the same individual may appear completely normal.
How to Spot It
Check the CCTV feed before accepting a patient. If the person on camera appears as a solid black figure with no discernible features, eyes, or color, this is a Shadow Figure. They will not look this way when viewed directly at the check-in window.
Strategy
- CCTV is the only reliable detection method for this anomaly
- If you spot a completely black silhouette on the camera, reject the patient
- Do not rely on physical appearance — the Shadow Figure looks normal in person
- Coordinate with a teammate who can watch cameras while you handle the desk
